How the shipping methods compare

Road freight is the usual choice within Europe: 3 to 10 days typically, economical, and available as a shared or dedicated load.

Sea freight handles everything long-haul. A 20ft container comfortably fits a three-bedroom home; a 40ft gives enough space to include a vehicle. Sea freight to Australia or the USA usually takes 4 to 8 weeks depending on the port and schedule.

Air freight is the fastest and the most expensive per kilo, priced on chargeable weight. It suits small urgent consignments, and pairs well with a sea shipment following behind. See air freight for what can and cannot travel by air.
